MAY
Holi: Festival of Colours
The sun was (finally!) shining for us as Holi: Festival of Colours took place, a couple of months late, in May. Over 700 of you (including Southend students) came together to
celebrate with a live DJ, drum performances, traditional drink, free t-shirts, and of course... LOADS of paint.
SU Bar 🥂☕
You joined us in SU Bar, the heart of campus, for some amazing events in term three, including;
🎤 our legendary Eurovision Party
⚽ FA Cup and Champions League Final
🎶 Musical Bingo
🐄 Milk It
🏉 Pre FED Wednesday Warm Up
And, of course, we held a huge Royal Rave in Sub Zero with giveaway crowns, glowsticks, cardboard cutouts, free t-shirts, 360 photo booth and confetti cannons.

Anne Bernard
Anne won a prestigious national Coronation Champion Award for her services to volunteering and got to attend the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle.
The second year law student volunteers as Communications Officer in two of our VTeam projects, Animal Protection and Green Thumbs.
Exam Mode On
As part of #ExamModeOn we put on a series of events to help you get out into the fresh air, take a break from studying and interact with others. Including a petting farm, an ice cream giveaway, smoothie bikes, a BBQ by the lakes and a mocktail giveaway.
We hosted Study Sessions with SU Makes, three times a week, so you could chill, do some crafts and study with other people.
You guys turned up in your 100s and we hope these helped alleviate the stress of exams!
su Makes
This year saw the launch of SU Makes and it has proved to be incredibly popular with students looking for more slower paced daytime activities.
A real community has been built up around ‘makers’ and there have been over 40 different craft sessions since October, some in collaboration with SCO events – such as bracelet making for Lunar New Year and a special parent and carers session.

So, that’s a wrap on 22/23.
Let’s talk 23/24…
This year has been a big one for the SU, but we’re up for doing it all again and even better next year. Everything we do is powered by you, our members, so what do you want to see next year? Drop your ideas here and we’ll do our best to make them happen.
